I am a Colombian artist whose sculptural and light-based installations explore the intersection of nature, memory, and transformation. Recently, I have been working with organic materials, such as roots, plant fibres, and living matter. My current practice focuses on processes of weaving, tending, and listening to the silent language of plants. In my most recent project, I have been learning traditional basketry techniques, integrating them into my sculptural work as gestures of care, resilience, and embodied knowledge.
I draw inspiration from my ancestors, the Tolimas and Quimbayas —sacred goldsmiths, potters, and farmers who believed that nature’s wisdom held the secrets of life and death. Their legacy fuels my passion to create work that serves as a bridge between past and future, tradition and innovation, the human and the natural.
My work is an act of re-story-ation, an effort to heal our fractured relationship with nature through storytelling. By weaving together living materials, light, and space, I seek to rekindle awareness of our profound interdependence with the natural world. The inner landscape I explore is not separate from the outer; it is shaped by it, nourished by it, and ultimately exists in service to it. Like roots and light, my work lingers in the in-between. Through light, movement, and slow material transformation, I create spaces that honour ecological diversity and the continuity of ancestral knowledge.
